My Real Estate Blog
First of all, Buy Phoenix is a real estate blog that will eventually be a resource for buying and selling homes in the Phoenix area. As I make the leap from my current career I want to share my experiences and hopefully help people get to know me better and work with me one day. After an extensive career at a local tech company fixing servers and DNS settings, I decided to pursue a new path better suited to my background in interior design. I had always heard the timing would never be right. For this reason, I decided this summer was as good a time as any to start making a better life for myself.
Real Estate School
For my exam prep, I chose the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business. I selected this school because a few of my former class mates at MCC went there and they had good reviews. I have purchased all my supplies and picked up my book and flashcards from the Gilbert campus last week. The course materials also included an online prep and contract writing class as well. As excited as I am to get started, I really needed to take some time to unwind before jumping right in. With my first class next week, I am using the down time to work on this real estate blog and do house projects that I never got around to while working full time. I am sure some of you can relate to that.
House Projects
There is a whole list of things that need to be done around our house and I decided to share my side projects along the way as well. When we bought our house two years ago we had the owners replace the roof on our patio. In this case, the old one was made of tile and was too heavy for the slope of the roof. They did a great job installing the new roof but never painted the trim around the eaves. As a result, this was an easy project requiring just a little paint and elbow grease.
